Word from the CEO:

" I am proud to report HELP's five year old tree production and research center has gotten additional traction in 2020.  Some of our bigger achievements:
 i) our current crop is the largest largest crop we have produced at the tree farm
ii) The seedlings for all tree varieties have achieved their longest stems and best container roots yet achieved at the tree farm with average stem length twice that of recent years.
iii) We have increased the diversity of genetic material by contracting four additional outside sourcing of genetic material to propagate trees and have created a second new major 15,000 square meter genetic garden at our own center with diverse strains of our regular line of poplars and willows.
iv) We have entered into an agreement with an adjacent landowner to drain their floodwaters onto our land to shore up HELP's own water resources in its two main reservoirs.

Thank you to all landowners, municipalities, government departments, parks and schools across the prairies who purchase trees and planting services through HELP International's Shelterbelt Program"
A Quick Note: HELP International is a federally incorporated non-for-profit corporation and a federally registered charity. As a volunteer organization HELP operates with volunteer forestry interns and apprentices from North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
HELP International was the recipient of two significant Achievement Awards
  •     'Saskatchewan Environment Industry Leadership Award': for environment industry innovations in Canada
  •     SCIC 'Global Citizen Award': for our national agro-forestry program achievements in Kenya

i) HELP  adds 5 percentage extra trees to each order without charge to compensate for initial tree losses during establishment. ii) HELP provides any additional trees required for replants (when customer states the trees are for replants) within 18 months of planting at the preferred rate of $1.75 per seedling regardless if amount of trees re-ordered for replants is less than 300.
iii) If an entire batch of a particular species is non viable then HELP will not distribute this non viable variety and will call the customer to arrange a substitution.
iv) If ten or more clients confirm that an entire variety was non viable then HELP will replace or substitute an equal number of trees within a year, but preferably as soon as possible. This  applies if there is lack of establishment only when tree care, pests or disease prevailant in customer area, drought, hail, flooding or other extreme climatic conditions are ruled out.  The Shelterbelt program receives no government funding and survives 100% on the proceeds of tree sales and HELP's contract plantings revenue.
